Vase

Large vintage Belgian ceramic vase hand-painted with bright flowers, gheisas in typical costumes, and the Fuji volcano on a black background and finished with gold accents. Numbered 856. In excellent condition. Dimensions: 27 cm height, 27 cm diameter. H. Bequet began making beautiful ceramics in 1926 at the Belgian ceramics factory Auguste Mouzin et Cie (AMC). Bequet opened his own ceramics production factory in 1934. The factory's peak of success was in 1963 when it employed 150 workers, but it finally closed its doors in December 1982. Hubert Bequet, however, continued to produce pottery in a small workshop, "Céramiques du Borinage," until April 1985 before its final closure.
