Roche-bobois edition hi-fi unit, 1980s, designed by roger maugrion. The furniture is made of rattan from the island of mindanao and canework, with leather bindings covering the corners and stained ash veneer. In the 1970s and 1980s, roche-bobois asked the “rattan” designer (in his own words) roger maugrion to design more than 200 pieces of furniture in natural materials, mainly rattan. These were made in the maugrion workshop near bayeux in which 27 workers worked. Maugrion was himself a former student of the national school of basketry and osiericulture. The piece of furniture has several lockers, shelves and storage spaces as well as a drawer for storing records, books and various objects. Originally, this piece of furniture was designed as a hi-fi piece of furniture but turning it into a console, bookcase, etc. Will give it a second life.
