Large chrome and glass table lamp by Temde, Switzerland, 1970s. This impressive table or floor lamp is in very good condition. Manufactured by Temde in the 1970s, it features a heavy chrome-plated metal base that holds the glass and the socket inside the glass. The handmade glass shade is beautifully shaped and has a bubble pattern trapped inside, creating a spectacular effect when lit. This lamp is a stunning piece that seamlessly combines elegance, craftsmanship, and functionality. It is also a famous piece, as it was used in Stanley Kubrick’s 1970s movie 'A Clockwork Orange'. Light source: E27 / E26 Edison screw fitting max 100W. Temde Leuchten, a German-Swiss manufacturer of lighting fixtures, was founded by Fritz Müller in 1911, headquartered in Detmold (North Rhine-Westphalia) with a subsidiary in Sevelen, Switzerland. In its early years, only wood (mostly teak) lamps were made. Since the 1930s, Temde has also produced lighting elements made of modern materials such as chrome and glass, though wood remains dominant. On the vintage market, non-wood lamps by Temde are now quite scarce.
