Large iridescent black ceramic peacock sculpture - 1970s

A striking, sculptural, and decidedly theatrical piece for your interior. I am selling this magnificent and large vintage art ceramic statue representing a pair of peacocks. An object with a strong and bold design, ideal for adding a Hollywood Regency, chic, or curiosity cabinet touch to your interior decor. This sculpture stands out due to the superb movement of the two birds, one displaying its sculpted tail with rich relief details. The glazing is spectacular: a glossy jet black enhanced by a polished treatment that offers incredible iridescent, pearlescent, and metallic reflections (purple, bluish, and golden hues) that change depending on the light exposure. Length: 41 cm Height: 32 cm. Overall good condition. The ceramic is sound, heavy, and has excellent stability as well as a superb shine. Note: a small white spot / glaze skip from discreet use is present on the lower flank (visible in the detail photo).
