Set of 4 "Ant" chairs by Arne Jacobsen for Fritz Hansen - 1950s

Magnificent series of 4 Ant chairs designed by Arne Jacobsen for Fritz Hansen in 1952. The basic objective of creating this chair was to furnish the cafeteria of the Danish pharmaceutical company Novo Nordisk in Copenhagen. This lightweight, stackable and ergonomic chair was intended to integrate a modern and functional space. Arne Jacobsen was inspired by organic forms found in nature, notably that of an ant, to create curved and fluid lines. This series has the particularity of being tripod and therefore a little rarer. You can see from the metal structure that this is one of the first editions. As you can see in the photos. This chair has many signs of wear. It is of course a chair from the 1950s so it has lived well. It is in perfect used condition but has significant signs of use. It is therefore in a magnificent vintage condition.
