19th-century walnut slant-front desk. Louis XIII style. L130 H75/112 P70. A very beautiful piece of cabinetmaking, patinated, with dovetail drawers, including: Gallery with bobèches. 1 shelf of 120 X 28.5 X 2. 1 niche of 52.5 X 25 X 12. At the top left, 2 drawers with aged brass rings of 22 X 22 X 6.5 (internal dimensions). At the top right, 2 drawers with aged brass rings of 22 X 22 X 6.5 (internal dimensions). 1 horizontal surface with a leather writing pad (signs of use, see photos) of 129 X 41 X 2, extendable to 129 X 65.5 revealing ink stains on the hidden part (see photo). At the bottom left, 2 drawers with locks (without keys) of 53.5 X 22 X 7 (internal dimensions). In the centre, 1 drawer with a lock (without key) of 52 X 53.5 X 6.5. At the bottom right, 1 drawer with 2 locks (including 1 false entry) of 22 X 17.5 X 17 (internal dimensions), with a mobile compartment with 4 dividers, of 22 X 17 X 2.9 (internal dimensions) and a secret compartment with a lock (without key) of 22.5 X 30 X 15 with a sliding shelf. Overall good condition, signs of use (see photos).
