Silverless bronze candlestick with Empire period hallmark

Old candlestick candlestick in silverless bronze, empire period (early 19th century). Molded shaft and mid-length palmette frieze, plain molded circular base. Formerly silvered, presence of hallmarks under the base. This charming candle holder was found abandoned in a very poor state! After many gentle cleanings, we had the pleasure of discovering it in such beautiful condition, and so lovely. Its style and its shimmering color make it both a decorative object and a witness to the know-how of our artisans of yesteryear.
