Andô Hironobu. Ceramic vase from the "Ginga yô" series (distant galaxy), technique "seirôsai" (deep blue granular texture). Comes with its Tomobako (traditional wooden box) signed. H: 17.5cm. Andô Hironobu (born in 1940), a ceramic artist from Gifu (Japan), is listed as a member of the Nitten Club and the Japan Federation of New Craft Art. His work is rooted in the ceramic tradition of Gifu, one of the major centres of contemporary Japanese pottery, particularly since the second half of the 20th century, a period marked by the modernisation of regional techniques and the rise of creators associated with the Mino movement.
