Table and four chairs set, brown wood, beige fabric, Denmark, 1970s.

This Danish dining set from the 1960s or 1970s comprises a rectangular extendable table and four matching chairs, all designed in the spirit of Scandinavian modernism. The dominant material is wood in a warm, medium-brown hue with subtle reddish undertones and a semi-matte finish—characteristic of teak or stained beech. The chairs feature lightweight, slender frames with gently curved backrests, alongside seats and backrests upholstered in a matte, light-beige fabric with a delicate texture. The table stands out for its extendability, reaching a length of 210 cm; its tabletop bears visible lighter marks and areas of discoloration resulting from years of use. The construction of all pieces remains sturdy, featuring simple, clean joinery free from superfluous decorative details, thereby emphasizing functionality and clarity of form. Condition: good, with natural signs of age on the tabletop and minor traces of use on the upholstery, but no major damage or repairs. This set evokes the atmosphere of Danish daily life at the turn of the 1960s and 70s—a simplicity that is unobtrusive yet inviting. The wood, with its warm tones, tells the story of home gatherings, while the matte upholstery holds memories of conversations and laughter. The functionality expressed by the extendable tabletop echoes the pragmatism of Scandinavian design: the furniture was intended to be not only aesthetic but also practical, ready to accommodate larger gatherings. Every mark on the tabletop serves as a silent testament to decades past, subtly contributing to an authentic vintage narrative. The set pairs beautifully with geometric ceramics or glass accents that highlight the lightness and clarity of its lines. The listed price is for the complete set, comprising the table and four chairs. Table dimensions: length 120 cm (210 cm extended), width 80 cm, height 75 cm.
