Angelo Ostuni, Italian designer of the 20th century. Coffee table with double glass tops. Base in black lacquered metal. Design from the 1950s. Height: 47cm. Length: 92.5cm. Width: 48cm. Good condition, wear on the edges of the base, 3 chips on the lower top and a tiny one on the upper top, some scratches. Shipping possible via Cocolis (ask me for delivery costs) Collection in person possible. *Ostuni began his career as an interior architect, working for companies such as Gio Ponti and Carlo Pagani. In 1945, he founded his own design company, Ostuni & Forti, with his partner Carlo Forti. Together, they produced modern furniture and lighting for the most discerning clients. Ostuni's lighting designs were characterised by their simple, geometric shapes and innovative use of materials such as glass, brass, and aluminium. Ostuni's lighting was widely distributed across Europe and exhibited in numerous design exhibitions. In 1955, Ostuni received the gold medal at the Triennale di Milano for his lighting creations. Throughout his career, he also worked with prestigious brands such as Arredoluce, Fontana Arte, and Stilnovo. Today, Angelo Ostuni's creations are considered classics of modern design and are highly sought after by collectors and design enthusiasts worldwide.
