African mask, fang tribe, wood and kaolin

This piece is a fang mask from gabon carved from a piece of tree...small (19 cm). This mask is very characteristic of the fang. Long thin nose, light wood, coated with kaolin (only a few traces remained) enhanced with black to outline a heart-shaped face. A rounded forehead, half-closed eyes and a small, non-hollowed mouth. No holes to hang it or wear it on the face.
