Tizio lamp by richard sapper for the italian publisher artemide. he created this lamp in 1972, revolutionary for the time being the first lamp to use a halogen bulb, but also for its system of counterweights coming perfectly balanced the structure allowing its user to position the lighting precisely on the desired area with a simple gesture of the hand. selected in 1979 for the compasso d'oro, it was later integrated into the moma's permanent collection. still published to this day, it is now available in three models: tizio, tizio micro or tizio plus. special editions have also emerged, including a model entirely lacquered in red, the designer's favorite color. The structure consists of a cylindrical base made of propylene ether and polystyrene containing the transformer, a switch is also located on it and allows to obtain two different light intensities. the light that leaves the transformer is then transmitted through its two aluminum arms. each arm ends with a cast zinc alloy counterweight to balance the balance system. arm spacing is permitted and maintained by chrome-plated steel spacers ending in two red molded thermoplastic insulators. its head, made of die-cast aluminum, is also steerable and has an internal anodized aluminum reflector. In very good condition, fully overhauled at a professional electrician.
