Arts & Crafts lamp by W.A.S Benson

Oil lamp in copper and brass equipped with an electrical system great britain, circa 1900.brand of w.a.s benson under a paw. Good condition: slight sinking on the junction point of the two parts of the tank, breaks on the coat of the flame diffuser. Recent lampshade. New electrification. Dimensions without lampshade: diameter: 19cm, height: 23cm. W.a.s benson was one of the pioneers of arts & crafts lighting in england. Advised by the founder and theoretician of the arts & crafts movement. He opened his first workshop specializing in copper and brass work in 1880 where he manufactured domestic objects as well as lighting.
