Napoleon III Table Mirror

Period: ca. 1850-1890. A classic and decorative table mirror with pretty details in two-tone brown and gold bronze. The frame is adorned with typical neo-classical motifs such as the ribbon tied on the ridge, flowers and the frieze lictor beams on the edges. The ornaments are golden in color contrasting them with the background of dark bronze color. Stylistically this mirror is louis XVI but the mirror probably dates from the napoleon III period of the late 19th century when historical styles were popular. The mirror is beveled adding an extra touch of quality to this room. The mirror is self-supporting thanks to its articulated foot. State: Good. The gilding has thinned in places but is generally in good condition giving this piece a beautiful patina. There is a scale on the beveled edge (see photo).
