This vintage table lamp from the 1950s was produced by VEB Wohnraumleuchten in the former GDR. Its design features a ribbed white porcelain base, complemented by a conical textured fabric shade in a warm beige hue. The base is made of glazed porcelain. The lamp is designed for a standard E27 bulb and has a fabric-covered cord. The combination of the smooth ceramic and the textured surface of the shade creates a balanced tactile and visual appeal. The base is in very good vintage condition; the porcelain surface is intact and the shade shows an authentic patina consistent with its age. The material inside is somewhat cracked—see the photos—but the shade largely retains its shape. This piece fits perfectly into Scandinavian or retro-inspired interiors. It serves as an excellent source of ambient lighting for a sideboard, bedside table, or desk, bringing a touch of East German design history into the modern home.
