Cobalt Blue Blown Glass Carafe - Metropolitan Museum of Art New York

Cobalt blue blown glass carafe or jug that offers a very beautiful transparency (see photo). This piece is an official reproduction from 1930 made by the Metropolitan Museum of Art, inspired by an original American glass jug from the early 19th century, probably from the state of New York. Blown and shaped entirely by hand in the same tradition as the original pieces, it bears a clearly visible pontil mark under its base, a characteristic signature of handmade blown glass and a testament to its authenticity. With a clear presence on the table, it is a piece that instantly stands out. Ideal for a bohemian kitchen, a summer table, or a collection of colourful glassware, and a lovely nod for museum object enthusiasts. Condition: very good vintage condition, with very slight signs of wear consistent with its age. Dimensions: Height: 23.4 cm (9.2 in) — Width: 17.3 cm (6.8 in) — Depth: 13.20 cm (5.2 in).
