Venetian Style Art Nouveau Double-Sided Mirror – Gilded Brass – H. 230 cm

Grand mirror of the Art Nouveau style from Venice, monumental vertical format (230 X 110 cm, 60 kg). Composed of several assembled mirror glass panels, held by decorative blackened metal rosettes. The decoration consists of gilded metal ornaments applied directly to the surface of the glass: arabesques, scrolls, acanthus leaves, and a central motif of a fully opened palmette at the top, characteristic of the ornamental repertoire of Art Nouveau from the early 20th century. The peripheral frame is made of gilded wood, with a fine and understated section, allowing the central ornamentation to take centre stage. The glass has a slight antique patina, with no visible deterioration of the silvering. The gilding is well preserved in its original state. No restoration work to report. The piece is entirely original and in excellent condition.
