Monumental Hollywood Regency tropical mirror in bamboo cane, atr

This monumental mirror stands out with its imposing sculptural presence and a volumetric development of great visual dynamism. Its design revolves around an architectural silhouette with a triple descending stepped arch, configuring a pyramidal structure in harmony with the currents of high-end Italian design from the 1970s. It is an extremely exclusive piece and very difficult to find on the current secondary market, particularly due to its unusual large horizontal format, which significantly elevates its collectible value. The upper curved mouldings have been executed masterfully, bending the material with steam in a clean and symmetrical manner to embrace the original glass, which remains in perfect condition, with a clear reflection free from any oxidation, moisture stains, or loss of mercury. The frame features a handcrafted coating of bamboo cane meticulously arranged in parallel, adding a rich linear texture to the relief of the piece. The material retains its original period varnish, showcasing a clean patina with a warm and deep caramel honey hue that naturally highlights the subtle organic knots of the cane. The recessed intermediate planes are finished in a cream white lacquer that generates a strong tonal contrast; this combination emphasises the volumes, depth, and three-dimensional effect of the three stepped levels. The piece is in excellent vintage condition and structurally sound, maintaining its stable and watertight mitred joints, and showing only subtle and minimal surface wear in the lacquer typical of its age, which attests to its original unrestored condition.
