The blown glass vase is in very good condition, no major accidents. However, it is worth noting a succession of micro scratches around the edge of the collar, quite tiny. The piece is very well made, heavy and opulent. It is made of blown glass from riom, a town in central france in puy-de-dôme, in the auvergne-rhône-alpes region. This piece was mouth-blown using an artisanal technique and as a result, it is irregular. The seeded glass catches the light beautifully and has a soft, delicate texture. Bubbled glass has existed for a long time, here it is more precisely the so-called "malfin" technique, which consists of transforming a defect into quality: intentionally imprisoned, the bubble becomes an aesthetic asset. The glassmakers then succeed in sublimating the bubbled glass: by controlling the bubble, and by imprisoning it between two layers of glass, with a smooth feel. Between tradition and creation, each glassware is unique, because it is mouth-blown by master glassmakers. The pieces can be available in all colors: golden yellow, smoky brown, sand pink, lime, amethyst, persian blue etc... So many pastel and sparkling colors at the same time. Here, a very pretty, elegant and delicate smoky brown. The vase is heavy and very stable on its foot. The piece is marked in relief on the reverse riom, in capital letters. Very pretty piece of french craftsmanship from central france, from the 70s.
