Glazed ceramic trinket dish by Robert Picault, decorated with vertical stripes in shades of green and ochre. This rectangular trinket dish illustrates the poetic rigor of Robert Picault, a French ceramicist whose work from the 1950s explored the dialogue between line and color. The hand-painted bands alternate shades of sea green, honey, and brown in a balanced and luminous composition. The slightly cracked glaze bears witness to the passage of time and the artist's hand. A seemingly simple piece, yet beautifully executed. Perfect placed on a vintage dresser or stacked with other pieces by Picault. It also functions as a hall trinket dish, or simply as a decorative object to contemplate. Condition: Good overall condition, with some chips and patina of age.
