Description
Pair of sculptural accolay lamps in ceramic, resin and copper. Double lighting in the lampshade. Good condition. Height: 144 cm. Diameter: 31 cm. No cracks. The pottery of accolay was created after the second world war by 4 former students of alexandre kostanda, a ceramist of polish origin who had worked in vallauris. Near the national 6, the potters had the idea of using the gas stations to exhibit their works and allow tourists passing through to appreciate them. The artists, led by andré boutaud, created chess pieces, ceramic figures with a wire structure, glazed clay pieces with ethnic motifs, masks, etc.
