A charming Mid-Century Modern rattan and beech side table designed by Jan Kalous in Czechoslovakia during the 1970s. The table features a circular beech plywood top framed by a wide, intricately woven natural rattan border. Four solid beech legs are gently tapered and splayed outward, giving the table a light, balanced silhouette typical of Central European modernist furniture of the period. The contrast between the smooth wooden center and handcrafted wickerwork creates an attractive natural texture while retaining a clean and minimalist appearance. Its compact proportions make it highly versatile as a side table, occasional table, end table, bedside table or decorative plant stand. The natural materials work particularly well in Mid-Century Modern, Scandinavian Modern, organic modern and contemporary interiors. Designed by Jan Kalous. Origin: Czechoslovakia. Period: 1970s.
