Second Empire folding armchair

Folding chair typical of garden furniture of the second empire and the belle-epoque, reupholstered with thick herringbone linen, putty color (seat and backrest of one piece). The wooden uprights and sleepers in very good condition, solid, with some beetle holes that add to the charm and obsolescence of the seat. The armrests are formed by simple strips of the same fabric and fixed on the top of the cross uprights by the original brass accessories. The uprights are protected from impact by curved brass nails too. This piece of furniture is light and easily transportable. It responds to the strong bourgeois demand that privileges outdoor life and the lifestyle of the romantic movement, dear to artists and impressionists alike. This armchair also gladly finds its place in a living room or bedroom, and has the advantage of not taking up space once folded.
