The Vannes-le-Châtel crystal factory (1765 – 2021) is an essential place for the creation of glass art in France. It is here, since 1765, that artists and craftsmen have met to give glass all its letters of nobility. The Vannes crystal factory is part of history, contributing to the creation of glass masterpieces as well as the transmission of complex know-how. Created in 1765 by the Countess of Mazirot of Reims, the company passed through several hands until the merger with the glassworks of Vallérysthal and Portieux, and those of Bayel and Fains in 1970. The glassworks of Vannes became the company Française du Cristal (CFC) then joined Daum under the name CFC Daum. Originally, these were ordinary productions, which were unsigned. The company gradually moved from glass to crystal between 1962 and 1964. Marketing under the brand “Cristal de Sèvres” from 1970, and “Daum” from 1980. Dimensions (cm): l 55.5 x l 22 x h 17.5.
