Art deco dining table in cerused oak attributed to de coene, circa 1940. This superb table features a checkered patterned top and beveled glass that rests on a finely carved base in h with spacer or bar with chat.de of coene in kortrijk. During the interwar period, the company gained an international reputation for the production of high-quality art deco wooden furniture. Based on the arts and crafts philosophy, the company will call on great artists and architects, including the painter albert saverys. In addition to the individual sale of furniture to the wealthy bourgeoisie, the company is also responsible for custom furnishings for restaurants, hotels, casinos, trains, banks and other large institutions.
