Description
After several years of development by ray & charles eames, the herman miller lounge chair entered production in the usa in 1956. From the late 1950s, the lounge chair was also produced by rolf fehlbaum (founder of vitra) in europe. Until about 1962, the lounge chair was marketed under the contura brand. This copy is therefore one of the very first products in europe, some details are also specific to these years! The multiplex shells plated in rio rosewood have been restored and refined. All cushions and armrests are made of original thick leather. The leather is patinated and cracked in places, but can still be used for many years!.
