Old footed ceramic pie dish Sarreguemines – Algiers

A vintage footed dish with an elegant look, from the Sarreguemines & Digoin pottery, founded in 1790 in Moselle and which established itself in the 19th century as one of the largest potteries in Europe. The "Alger" decoration, printed in shades of blue, combines a dense border of floral and leafy motifs with a more discreet central medallion. The foot, which slightly elevates the dish, makes it a presentation piece as well as a serving object for tarts and cakes. Manufacturer's stamp on the reverse.
