Ceramic elephant D.Pouchain

Rare and unique piece dating from the 2000s! Ceramic elephant signed by dominique pouchain, large format. Incredible ceramic work. The back of the elephant is carved with a beaded pattern. Slight accident on a defense. Possibility of acquiring a smaller elephant (the mother and her calf) to make a beautiful set. Very beautiful brown patina with copper highlights, bronze appearance. Dominique pouchain is a french artist born in 1956. He began his apprenticeship in the workshop of his parents jacques and rolande pouchain in 1973. His mother is a decorator, and his father is a ceramist and painter. In 1977, he registered with the chamber of trades as a craftsman and then produced utility pottery. Very quickly, he tackled his first animal sculptures. His bestiary is filled with goats, bulls, unicorns, african and fantastic animals. Humanity, poetry, gentleness and humor are the nature of the emotions that daily life brings back to us with these “horned beasts”, made of earth or bronze. For several years, the works of dominique pouchain have been successfully exhibited in numerous french and european galleries (london, switzerland, belgium, denmark, etc.).
