An extremely rare three-seater sofa made of Brazilian rosewood, designed by Illum Wikkelsø and manufactured by N. Eilersen in Denmark in the 1950s. The dynamic, angular contours, with their almost square-lined form, are held together by gently curved armrests, ultimately giving the frame a softer, more organic appearance. The warm, vibrant rosewood frame creates a striking contrast with the blue upholstery, while the visible, rounded finger-joint connections underline the exquisite craftsmanship. The open backrest is supported by distinctive brass fittings, which serve as special suspension elements and form a subtle yet functional detail. This open, airy frame construction gives the sofa an exceptional, sculptural presence in the room. Designer / Illum Wikkelsø. Manufacturer / N. Eilersen. Model / EK Period / 1950s.
