Rustic old table

Here is a beautiful antique work table with one drawer, stemming from the tradition of French peasant furniture. Simple and sturdy, it embodies the rural craftsmanship of the 19th century in all its authenticity: no superfluous ornamentation, no frills, just the raw beauty of solid oak worked by hand, joined with mortise and tenon joints, and patinated by decades of daily use. This type of furniture was once used in farms, rectories, or small rural workshops, for meal preparation as well as for administrative or craft tasks. Today, it naturally integrates into contemporary interiors seeking authenticity: bedside table, entrance console, side table, or small desk, its uses are numerous. MATERIALS: structure made of solid oak. FEATURES: this antique table rests on four straight legs with a square section, typical of unturned rural joinery from the 19th century. The base is reinforced with an H-shaped stretcher at mid-height, a traditional assembly that provides remarkable stability to the whole and constitutes one of the stylistic signatures of this type of French regional production. The apron houses a unique drawer at the front, equipped with an original round knob made of darkened wood. The entire piece is assembled without nails or screws — evidence of traditional pre-industrial craftsmanship. The marks of time (slight scratches on the top, wear on the edges) add to the authenticity of the table without compromising its structural integrity. CONDITION & RENOVATION: the tabletop has been very lightly sanded to reduce some stains. The entire table has then been waxed.
