Atelier callis, operating from 1946 to 1948, embodies the beginnings of post-war french ceramics and marks the initial rise of vallauris in this field. Founded by roger capron and robert picault, this workshop represents an important milestone in the history of french ceramics. Located in vallauris, a reference in the world of ceramics in france, the callis workshop has played a crucial role in the evolution of the style and aesthetics of contemporary ceramics. Capron and picault, visionaries of their time, produced a diverse range of remarkable pieces, from tiles to vases to sculptures. This bowl decorated with a hollow frieze in ceramic with milky white enamel and speckled interior in tones of blue is a fine example of their early work. Marked under the base callis france and workshop logo. A shine visible in the photos.
