Sun sculpture made by roland zobel (1915-2004), ceramist creator of the "atelier des cyclades", installed in anduze in the sixties. Son of the martinican writer joseph zobel ("rue casse-nègre"), he was trained at the school of fine arts in bourges and at the international school of ceramics in faenza (italy). He created the pottery "the cyclades" in générargues towards anduze then the pottery of "the madeleine" in 87 to revive the vase of anduze. His solar creations feature an enchanting bestiary inspired by mediterranean mythologies. This sculpture radiates the joy of living with these intense colors and the joyful expressiveness of a pagan mask.
