Magnificent earthenware asparagus dish by Moulin des Loups – Orchies, in a superb olive green and ivory palette. It features the characteristic ridges of these dishes originally designed to hold asparagus while allowing excess water to drain away. The asparagus spears are drawn on it, as well as the characteristic asparagus leaves. But make no mistake: this classic 50s-60s serving dish lends itself wonderfully to diverted uses. We love it as a cheese display, an antipasti platter, for serving seafood, or even as a trinket tray in a chic country-style entryway. A piece of character, both practical and decorative, which perfectly embodies the simple elegance of 20th-century French earthenware tableware. A pleasant little barbotine touch. Stamped Moulin des Loups Orchies on the back, one of the great earthenware factories of northern France, which marked the 20th century with its robust and elegant creations, combining everyday utility and decorative charm. Very good vintage condition with some discreet marks of use and a chip that has been poorly repaired but is overall quite discreet. Large rectangular format: 40 cm long, 25 cm wide, 3 cm high. As a centerpiece with a few tea lights and branches of foliage, this dish becomes a decorative element in its own right, perfect for a natural and refined atmosphere.
