Antique pair of high-quality collectable mid qing dynasty chinese emperor & empress statues seated on deep dragon throne chairs. Each is embellished with six dragon heads with gilt horns and hand-painted and enamelled decorative armchair backs with an opposing dragon & phoenix. Very detailed and colourful, the statues are dressed in traditional yellow gowns (associated with nobility status) with rank badges and traditional headwear. Made for the export market in fujian province.
