Very beautiful oil on canvas signed lower right jp. Schecroun and dating from the 1960s. This abstract composition suggests an orange silhouette, as if sitting cross-legged with the knees raised and the head tilted resting on it, all standing out against a background in shades of blue. Everyone is free to see anything else, but what is true is that this canvas gives off an impression of sweetness and serenity conducive to meditation. Jean-pierre schecroun, dubbed at the time the brilliant forger, was convicted in the early 1960s for counterfeiting works by modern masters such as picasso and braque. He will then explain that it was not to make money but to denounce the credulity of art dealers who refused to buy his own works but paid large sums for his fakes. In this case, it is one of his personal and original works, which deserves real attention. Note a very small lack of paint in the upper left quarter (see photo). Dimension of the canvas: 64 cm X 99 cm. Dimensions with frame: 67 cm X 102 cm.
