Superb large globe of the Earth published by Cartes Taride (Paris, Boulevard Saint-Germain) in collaboration with Philips’ Challenge Globes (London), dated 1960. A witness piece of its time, with its charming faded colours and its silver metal base typical of mid-century design. With a large diameter of 35 cm, this globe stands out for its decorative presence. Its wide metal base (Ø 24 cm, height 11 cm) provides excellent stability and an elegant look, making it perfect as a centrepiece for an office or library. Maritime routes, air lines, and former geopolitical names (USSR, Indochina, colonial Africa…) make it an object rich in history, both decorative and informative. Dimensions: globe Ø 35 cm – base Ø 24 cm – total height approx. 40 cm. Cardboard globe covered with lithographed paper, lightweight metal base (aluminium). Patina and signs of wear from time are visible (cracks, small losses, warped areas), but they enhance its authentic vintage charm. A very beautiful decorative object, perfect for an interior with an industrial style, a cabinet of curiosities, or chic flea market finds. Generous format, graphic design, and retro elegance, right in line with the vintage decor trend. A perfect globe for fans of industrial and mid-century decor.
