"very old and magnificent color lithograph of butterflies - illustration of heterocera (heterocera in latin), including the sponsa, of the suborder noctuae - this plate is an original from 1887. It is not a copy but a an engraving over 130 years old! - size: 28 X 21 cm - a detailed and realistic work from a specialized book; with a dozen different species illustrated - the condition of the engraving is very good: slightly worn edges.tiny graphs at the level of the legend. His entomology collections, butterfly are held at the natural history museum in london and by the national museum of natural history in washington.
