In the genealogy of the telephone industrialists, the industrial telephone company became in 1894 the heir of the telephone company created in 1880 which became the following year the general telephone company (sgt), which operated the telephone network of cities French companies until the nationalization of its telephone network in 1889. This model "the violin" from 1904 is the first telephone to have the "answer/hang up" function thanks to its mechanism, but also to have an aesthetic shape. The earpiece is a type #3 receiver manufactured by Ader and is serial number 472308 with built-in magnet and 150 ohm voice coil. The microphone is numbered 53055 in the series mn From the sit. This phone has all its original elements and has been mounted as a lamp in an elegant and decorative way. The lamp works perfectly and delivers a beautiful ambient light above the varnished wood of the phone. The lampshade (optional) measures 41x29 x h27 cm.
