Vintage plaster sculpture of Venus

Vintage sculpture – Torse de femme. Elegant Venus from the 1960s in hollow plaster, mounted on its original base. Provenance: Italy. Very well executed with a lovely brown patina tinged with reddish highlights, full of charm. Academic style, inspired by Antiquity, ideal as a decorative piece. In very good condition, with two small original holes at the back from manufacturing (see photos). These are necessary vents to release hot air and moisture, preventing the sculpture from cracking. The wooden base is a handcrafted period mount without official markings, showing natural wear consistent with the mid-20th century. The signature is a manual inscription in relief located on the thigh, to be identified! Bust in the style of the editions of Marcel Gimond in Sèvres.
