Art deco vase in ovoid-shaped cloisonnés enamels, created in 1924 by maurice dufrène, decorator of the keramis factory for "la maîtrise", the art studio of galeries lafayette in paris. Decoration of antelopes and parrots surrounded by blue and turquoise enamelled plants on a cracked white background. Perfect condition. Height 27, 5cm. Diameter 8cm at the neck, 10cm at the base. Signed below keramis la maîtrise, décor 896. Decoration listed in "art deco ceramics charles catteau" by marc pairon, page 277. About... Boch brothers kéramis. Created in 1841, in la louvière in belgium, by eugène and victor boch, the kéramis manufacture is a large classical earthenware factory, whose flagship is the realization of delft decorations. The arrival in 1906 of the cartoonist charles catteau gave it a new impetus. Present at the international exhibition of decorative arts in 1925 and the salon d'automne in paris, she worked for the art workshops of the department stores – primavera, pomone and la maitrise – influenced by japonism, africanism and avant-gardism.
