This small buffet with a reduced body opens at the lower part with two framed doors featuring recessed panels with mitered edges. Each independent panel is sculpted in relief with antique decorations depicting Zeus and his wife Hera, who is also his sister, from a different time and customs. These doors are mounted on iron hinges and are equipped with an original lock with key and scrollwork entries. The centre is adorned with a plaque of antique black marble highlighted by a double line of lemon wood and dark wood. The interior offers an adjustable shelf on brackets. The uprights feature two double columns. Above, the large drawer, decorated with a winged cherub's head, is fitted with iron pull handles. The whole rests on an overhanging base with a projection ending in ball feet. The upper part of this recessed piece, known as diminutive, replicates the same work as the lower part. It includes two sculpted doors. The upper section depicts an antique scene representing a nymph. The pediment features the deity Apollo within an altar. Richly decorated, this buffet will charm with its size and decorative style. ******** Period: Mid 19th century. Excellent condition. Waxed finish. Delivery available in France and internationally.
