Coffee table Heinz Lilienthal marble mosaic

Superb coffee table from the 70s by heinz lilienthal, german designer born in poland. It is composed of a plateau with a mosaic of carrara marble. Fully handmade tray. This table is taken from lilienthal's carrara series. Lilienthal creates the top by cutting the marble into small pieces and shapes them in such a way that the round shape of the marble remains intact. Then the pieces of marble are connected by epoxy, and then the entire top is covered with a transparent varnish. The advantage of this construction is that the marble is resistant thanks to the epoxy. Thus the top almost always seems to consist of a single piece, because the surface is smooth. An absolute masterpiece! The foot is made of stainless steel and has a typical "four-legged" foot shape. Very good general condition. - Total dimensions - diameter 85 X h 45 cm. Thickness of the tray - about 5 cm.
