An original Wassily chair designed by Marcel Breuer and produced by Knoll in a recent edition, reinterpreted through a striking pony leather upholstery. Originally designed in 1925 during the Bauhaus movement, the Wassily chair became one of the most iconic examples of tubular steel furniture and a landmark in modern furniture design. Its exposed chromed steel structure introduced a radically industrial aesthetic for its time, inspired by the construction of bicycle frames and the emerging language of modern architecture. This version features pony leather upholstery: a natural hair-on-hide material most commonly made from cowhide leather with the hair preserved. What makes this material distinctive is its rich tactile surface, organic texture, and naturally unique patterning. The contrast between the polished chrome frame and the organic black, brown, and white hide creates a strong visual balance between modernist precision and natural materiality.
