ARBEY notary file in walnut. Rare original patina

Description
Superb arbey notary binder, model 951 referenced in their catalog. It dates from the 1920s and has retained its unique patina, specific to this recognized brand which manufactured at pré st gervais and sold in the au vieux noyer boutique, at faubourg st antoine in paris (see the superb period photo). All this information is summarized on the metal label which serves as the lock entry. These are the old models with the original golden handle and the crazy little original open-end wrench, very different from the later ones. On the other hand, we find the typical shape of the wooden slats of the curtain, doubly beveled which gives them such a haughty appearance. The curtain, lock and key work perfectly. When sliding, it reveals 11 sliding drawers with solid wood edges. One is reported but the other 10 are strictly original as evidenced by the very rare arbey stamp found below 4 of them! In the center, a metal rod has helped maintain the solidity of the piece of furniture throughout the past century. We also notice the very specific arbey patina that they applied to their furniture. It has traces of wear, surface friction but the furniture remains in superb general condition. A beautiful piece.
