Pair of Amanta chauffeuses by Mario Bellini for B&B Italia 1960s

The amanta model was the first piece designed by mario bellini for the debut of the italian firm, it was inspired by the barcelona armchair by ludwig mies van de rohe to produce one of the very first modular sofas. This series is no longer produced to date, however there is a small version that was born in 1975 which differs in some structural points such as the removal of the rear slot, the removal of the buttons or the addition of an additional cushion on the seat but the innovation was brought by the addition of an armrest module. The heater is cubic in shape. The frame is made of a single piece of reinforced polyester with a slot in the middle of the backrest reinforcing the strength of the structure. It is composed of 3 cushions independent of the structure with three buttons covered on the backrest and three on the seat tightening the covering. In addition, the chair does not have a base. There is also the b&b italia logo molded under the structure. In very good condition, completely reupholstered in our workshop.
