This antique holy water font is made of porcelain biscuit and is signed MF. It depicts an angel holding a giant Tridacna shell "holy water font" that can hold holy water. Note that only the inside of the shell has a glaze. The angel has a delicate face, full of sweetness, and wears a heart pendant. It is a beautiful object of religious devotion. This holy water font has an impressed mark: "MF" and 178 B. "MF" is believed to have been used by the Sèvres factory around 1860 for biscuits. It has two holes at the back for threading a small ribbon to hang it on the wall. It measures 17 cm X 10.5 cm. Please note: there is a small chip on the edge of the shell.
