Extremely rare sofa spage age "mantis" designed in the netherlands in the 70's. Designer: gerard van den berg. Manufacturer: montis, netherlands. Anne of conception: around 1970. Dimensions: 92p X 170l X 102h. Seat height; 40cm. The sofa, surprisingly light (can be worn by 2 people s easily) is entirely covered with soft gray leather, like a skin. It remains in good condition with a very light patina, although the leather, conforming to age and use, remains in good condition. To deplore however, a natural tear (on a seam) of about 30cm, which can be stitched by an upholsterer, which justifies the price of the sofa according to its value on the market. This period design object remains fully functional and elegant, despite. Some signs of aging-scuffs, faded finishes, minimal defects of the padding and distended seams in places. Montis introduced a revolutionary idea for upholstery, known as the jacket technique. The innovation was to allow a leather cover to be slipped around the metal frame. The zipper around the sofa is called "jacket technique" and was invented by montis to simplify upholstery.
