“Tobio” table by Afra & Tobia Scarpa for B&B Italia, 1974. Stunning dining or centre table designed in 1974 by the designer duo Afra & Tobia Scarpa for the Italian publisher B&B Italia. It is distinguished by its cognac leather patchwork base and its exceptional top made of Iranian red travertine (orange-red colour), whose spectacular veining gives the piece a strong decorative presence. Documented in the book Design Italiano 1950-2000 (p.224), the “Tobio” perfectly illustrates the meeting of architectural rigor and noble materials, typical of the Scarpa's work. Dimensions: • Width: 146 cm. • Depth: 129 cm. • Height: 72 cm. Materials: travertine, leather. Condition: Excellent vintage condition, both on the top and the central leg. Some light signs of use consistent with its age.
