“Japanese Series” Desk by Cees Braakman for Pastoe, Netherlands 1960

A beautiful dutch design desk from the highly wanted japanese series designed by cees braakman, manufactured by pastoe in the netherlands, circa 1960. This stunning desk is made of the highest quality teak wood on a black lacquered metal base. The drawer units on both sides provide ample storage capacity with plenty of storage space. It has a nice minimalist style with the use of only square shapes. The black square handles make it a highly recognizable japanese series piece and beautifully compliment the overall design. It would make a great addition to any mid-century interior! This eye-catching piece remains in very good vintage condition with minor wear consistent with age and use, preserving a beautiful patina. No structurl flaws, opening mechanisms also still perfectly working. The wood is strong in structure and colour with no damages. Only minor wear, some small user marks and light colour changes to the wooden top as reflected in the photos.
