Antique Gien gravy boat – red & blue floral decoration – opaque porcelain

This charming opaque porcelain jug/gravy boat from Gien captivates with its organic shape and generously hand-painted floral decoration. The large carmine-red flower, the deep blue leaves, and the cobalt lines encircling the rim create a vibrant and typically Gien composition. Under the base is the stamp "Porcelaine Opaque de Gien," used between 1886 and 1939. The shape, palette, and execution most likely place this piece around the 1930s, a period when the factory was modernizing its forms while preserving its decorative expertise. It is in good vintage condition, with a glossy glaze and only discreet signs of age, no cracks or chips, and very slight color variations on the handle and minor imperfections on the rim on one side (see photos). Diameter 11.5 cm, length from spout to handle 18 cm, height 6.5 cm. An authentic touch in the heritage revival trend and the return of fine French manufacturing.
